Van Johnson was the very definition of the matinee idol of Hollywood’s golden age. With nearly 70 film roles, plus dozens of TV and theatre roles, Johnson provided the boy-next-door charm in countless roles.
At the Historic Elitch Theatre we remember him for this two appearances: 1977’s Send Me No Flowers and 1979’s Boeing-Boeing. (Check out the photo below where he got to celebrate his birthday at the theatre during Send Me No Flowers.)
