Private Tour FAQ

Ask Us Anything

For groups of 10+ we are happy to schedule a private group tour. (We are an all-volunteer organization, so private tours are dependent on the availability of our volunteer tour guides.) For groups less than 10, please check out our schedule of public tours.

The theatre is a summer-only venue, so tours are only available from mid-May to mid-October.

We are an all-volunteer organization, so our availability is based on the availability of our volunteers. However, we are generally able to accommodate most requests.

Midday tours during the week are the most common, but we can attempt to accommodate a weekend tour if needed.

Many of our groups choose to do a midday tour and then have lunch at a nearby restaurant, so please let us know if this is your plan and we can direct you to some of the nearby restaurants who are great supporters of the theatre!

For private tours, we ask for a donation of $15 per person — our volunteer tour guides do these tours to support the organization and to help fund the ongoing preservation of the theatre.

Your donation supports our daily operations!

We plan for the tours to run 90-minutes, but we’re covering over a century of history, so they sometimes run over, especially if there are lots of great questions and discussion (which we love!)

(But, if you are on a tight deadline, we can make sure the tour wraps-up in 90-minutes!)

The tour is 100% wheelchair accessible — all areas of the tour can be attended without any stairs.

However, please note that there are parts of the tour where attendees will be standing for 10 to 20 minutes. Please let us know if this will be an issue and we an explore options to accommodate your group.  (If needed, the tour can be done in the auditorium chairs, but ideally we like to move around the theatre if attendees are able to stand for part of the tour.)

If your group is unable to make it for a tour, we ask that you give us at least 7-days notice.
