Patty Duke

Patty Duke Astin, who will costar with her husband John Astin in “A Shot in the Dark,” the next production at Elitch Theatre, won the 1962 supporting actress award for “The Miracle Worker,” a role (Helen Keller as a child) she created in the original Broadway production. Her fine dramatic talent has been displayed in numerous motion pictures and television productions. Recent films include “Valley of the Dolls” and “You’ll Like My Mother.” She had her own successful television series for several seasons, appeared in the Emmy winning “My Sweet Charlie,” and recently with husband Astin in NRC’s “Circle of Fear.
