Mason Adams was one of the classic character actors of the 1970s and 1980s, but some of his greatest roles were on old-time radio programs, including the long-running Pepper Young’s Family.
In 1944, Adams opened on Broadway in Public Relations, but three decades later, from 1977 to 1982, his best-known role was that of Charlie Hume on Lou Grant.
Following Lou Grant, in 1984, he appeared at the Historic Elitch Theatre in Foxfire, a play about Appalachian culture and traditions in north Georgia.
