Barbara Bel Geddes may have been born in New York City, but from Maggie (in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof) to Miss Ellie (in the TV show Dallas), she played some strong Southern women.
In 1964 Bel Geddes appeared at the Historic Elitch Theatre in The Constant Wife, but almost a decade earlier, in 1955, Bel Geddes originated the legendary role of Maggie in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof on Broadway.
