In 1914 Elitch Gardens celebrated its 25th Anniversary. Mary Elitch invited all Denver residents who were there for the opening day of the Gardens to be a guest of hers for the Silver Jubilee.
Held on June 6, 1914, the theatre was officially opened for its 25th season (although, in later years the opening year of the theatre would be considered 1891 — when the theatre structure was built — not 1890 when the Zoological Gardens opened.)
Following a brief ceremony, attendees watched a performance of the season’s opening show, The Spendthrift, and that was followed by a banquet.
