Kathryn Crosby (1969)

Kathryn Crosby was often in the shadow of her very-famous husband, Bing, but at Elitch Theatre she was the lead actress in The Prime of Miss Jean Brody. (However, even her Bio in the program referenced Bing in the first three words.)

Crosby’s Bio from the 1969 Program for The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie:

Kathryn (Mrs. Bing) Crosby is not only a dynamic actress but she is also a Registered nurse in the state of California, an accredited substitute school marm, an author of the book “How To Marry Bing,” a lecturer and the mother of three active children Harry Lillis, Mary Frances and Nathaniel.

She signed a contract with Paramount Pictures a few years before her marriage to Bing Crosby in 1957. Her film credits as Kathryn Grant include “Rear Window,” “Living It Up,” “Arrowhead,” “Reprisal,” “Operation Mad Ball,” “The Big Circus,’ “Anatomy Of A Murder” and dozens of others. On the legitimate stage, she starred in “Sunday in New York,” “Sabrina Fair,” “Peter Pan,” “Arms and the Man,” “Mary, Mary” and “The Guardsman.’ Mrs. Crobsy’s television appearances include “Bob Hope’s Chrysler Theatre,” “Ben Casey,” three shows with her family on “Hollywood Palace,” and a “Bing Crosby Special” (“It took me ten years to get on the same stage with Bing”)
