One of our very favorite alumni — Christina Crawford! Her first visit to the Historic Elitch Theatre was in 1967 in the show Sunday in New York, and then in 2014 she stopped by again to visit and reminisce. It was such a treat to meet her in-person and she even signed an old program.
After re-connecting with her in 2014, she came back in 2016 for the New Works Festival. To encourage under-represented female playwrights, Christina created the Mary Elitch Award for Excellence in Female Playwriting.
