1924

The program again listed Rollo Lloyd as director. The leads were June Walker and Norval Keedwell. Among the plays presented was Winchell Smith and Tom Cushing’s Thank You, a story about an underpaid Reverend who cannot get along on his meager salary and relies on donations from his parishioners. His orphaned niece wages a campaign to get him a decent stipend and to regain his self-respect. After leaving New York, the piece played four years on the road, where it was “hailed by ministers and teachers as a powerful argument for underpaid educators and as the best friend the clergy ever had.”
