Summer Camp F.A.Q. & Refund Policy

What ages are accepted? 

We have two 1-week camps for ages 7-11 and 1 2-week Intensive Musical Theatre Camp (Shrek, jr.) for ages 11-17.
 

Do I need experience? 

No, many camps are open to all skill levels, from beginners to experienced performers.
 
What is the camp structure? 
A typical day includes workshops in improvisational games, acting, (voice and dance in our Musical Theatre Camps) with rehearsals for our final showcase.
What happens at the end? 
Programs usually culminate in a public performance or “shareformance” on the final day, complete with minimal costumes, sets, and props, sound enhancement and lighting. We also have an end of camp ice cream social and Strike (clean-up).
What should my child bring/wear? 
Campers should wear comfortable, flexible clothing suitable for movement, such as cotton t-shirts, sweatpants, or shorts. What is the focus of the camp? 
What does a typical day look like?
While producing a show is central, we also work to build self-confidence, teamwork, and resilience.
Do I need to audition? 
Our camps do not require auditions for placement, though we do hold a low-stress audition to determine particular roles.
Will there be food provided? 
Each participant will also need to bring their own lunch, bottle of water and a snack. We will provide some snacks as well.
What are the safety protocols? 
Our quality programs have strict policies for ‘team member’ behavior and against bullying. We require background-checked, trained staff. We also require that all students disclose any medical issues (medications needed, allergies, etc.) to us so we can keep everyone healthy and safe.
Are all rehearsals and shows held at Historic Elitch Theatre?
Yes. We will be inside or outside depending on the weather. 
Will it cost something for me to attend the show?
No, all are welcome. Invite your friends and family. There will be no charge.
Do you have something in place for a child with Special Needs?
Please let us know what those needs are and we will accommodate to the best of our ability.
What is your DEI Policy?

All youth are welcome at our summer camps and other programs. It is the policy of Historic Elitch Theatre that we do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local law. Our goal is to help all youth to grow in their creativity and grow into thriving, happy adults. 
Are there Scholarships available?
You may apply for a scholarship on the registration form.
Are there Early Enrollment Discounts?
If you register before March 20, you will be given a discount
Are there Sibling Discounts?
If you register more than one family member for one class, use promo code Family10 for a 10% discount.
Is there a refund policy?
There is a 75% refund available up to 4 weeks before class start date.
 
There is a 50% refund available from 3 weeks before before class start date.
 
There is no refund available from 2 weeks until start date.
 
Pro-rated refunds or make up classes are not available for student absences.
 
If a child is ill, we will determine the appropriate refund or credit.
Is there a before and after workshop program?
Not at this time. We do charge $15.00 per hour for early drop off or after hours pick up.
 
There will be NO one to attend to children an hour after the workshop ends. If class is over at 4 pm, there will be no one here after 5 pm.
