The Historic Elitch Theatre in Denver offers immersive history tours that transport visitors back to the golden age of American theater. Built in 1891, this landmark was once the centerpiece of Elitch’s Zoological Gardens and is renowned as the home of the country’s first summer stock theatre company.
Tours are available from early June through mid-September and are led by knowledgeable guides who share captivating stories about the theatre’s illustrious past. Visitors can explore the venue’s stunning architecture, backstage areas, and learn about the famous performers who graced its stage, including Grace Kelly, Robert Redford, and Douglas Fairbanks.
Public tours are typically offered monthly and last about 90-minutes, with tickets priced at $15 per person. (For groups of 10 or more, private tours can be arranged, subject to the availability of volunteer guides.)
