Dick Van Patten (1964)

Dick Van Patten may forever be known as the father on the Eight Is Enough TV Show, but in 1964 he appeared at the Historic Elitch theatre in a tour of Strictly Dishonorable with Cesar Romero.

Van Patten is the older brother of actress Joyce Van Patten — also an Elitch Theatre alum!”

  • The original Broadway production of The American Way opened at the Center Theatre on January 21, 1939. HET Alums, Fredric March and Florence Eldridge starred as Martin and Irma Gunther. Dick Van Patten had a role as Martin’s grandson, Karl, at age 9; HET alum, David Wayne, played an adult version of the same character.
